Committee to present report on Hinkson Creek pollution
COLUMBIA - The Hinkson Creek Collaborative Adaptive Managment (CAM) Stakeholder Committee will present its annual progress report today.
Members of the EPA and the Missouri DNR will attend the presentation at Hinkson Creek Wetlands Pavilion at five. CAM members as well as other officials will present the report.
CAM is a cooperative partnership aiming to use adaptive methods to implement a plan to reduce and detect pollutants to improve Hinkson Creek's water quality. The committee formed in 2011 to address the poor water quality of the creek. Part of the mission is to identify the pollutants in the creek in order to treat the water in the future.
The CAM process started approximately two years ago. Today's progress report will summarize the accomplishments of the process from 2012 and 2013.
