Community members honor Missouri's lost service members
COLUMBIA - People gathered at the Columbia Mall Tuesday to honor more than 150 Missourians who've lost their lives fighting for the U.S. in the War on Terror.
Each of these brave men and women are being remembered as part of a special exhibit called "Remembering Our Fallen From Missouri". The exhibit travels throughout the year to towns and cities across the state.
The special tribute tells the stories of each lost service member through photos, brief biographies and testimonials written by family members and loved ones. It also includes personal items and uniforms worn by lost military personal.
The special event kicked off Tuesday morning and runs through Sunday, October 5th.
The exhibit is located in the Target wing of the Columbia Mall. Visitors are welcome to view the tribute during normal mall hours from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public.
