AFFTON, Mo. (AP) -- A body found near a St. Louis County cemetery has been confirmed as that of a missing 1-year-old boy. County Police spokesman Rick Eckhard says the medical examiner made the confirmation Tuesday night.
Eckhard says the cause of death has not been determined. The mother of Tyler Dasher reported her son missing around 11 a.m. from the Affton home they share with the toddler's grandmother.
Police said citizens walking in a wooded area discovered the body around 3:30 p.m., about a mile from the home. Shelby Dasher told police she put her son in his crib around 10:30 p.m. Monday. Police say no more information will be released until Wednesday morning.
