Cooper County Man Injured After Homemade Shooting Target Explodes
COOPER COUNTY - A Cooper County man is injured after a homemade explosive device used for target practice exploded unexpectedly Saturday evening.
The Cooper County Fire Protection District and The Cooper County Sheriff's Department responded to a call of an explosion on Speed Drive around 7:15 p.m. Saturday.
The man, in his 60s, had created a device that would explode when shot. The plastic cap of the device blew off and injured him while being placed for target practice.
The man was airlifted to University Hospital.
The Cooper County Fire Protection District says there is no damage and no one else was injured.
