COLUMBIA - The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed a Cooper County Sheriff's deputies pursued the vehicle linked to the Landmark Bank robbery. The suspect fled on foot and got into a fight with the deputy. During the course of the fight, the officer shot the suspect and he was flown to University Hospital.
Officer Stephanie Drouin said Cooper County deputies shot the suspect and he was flown to University Hospital. She did not know his condition.
Columbia Police officers responded to a hold up alarm at the bank near the intersection of Nifong Boulevard and Providence Road just after 10 a.m. A previous release said the suspect entered the bank and demanded money. He did not display a weapon, but the robbery left the teller with minor injuries to his face. Investigators did not know how much money the robber took.
