Cost of Turkey Day Dinner Goes Down
JEFFERSON CITY - The price of a traditional Thanksgiving Day Dinner went down 44 cents nation-wide and 43 cents lower than that in Missouri from 2012 to 2013.
A report from the American Farm Bureau Federation said that the total cost of ingredients for a traditional dinner dropped from $49.48 to $49.04.
The ingredients for this dinner include a 16-pound turkey, sweet potatoes, bread stuffing, rolls with butter, peas, cranberries, a relish tray of carrots and celery, pumpkin pie with whipped cream, and coffee and milk, with enough for 10 people.
A report from the Missouri bureau said that in Missouri, the cost went down from $51.87 last year to $48.61.
The AFBF first started conducting this survey in 1986.
