Cottey College to increase degree program offerings
NEVADA (AP) — Cottey College plans to offer four new degree programs beginning this fall as it seeks to increase enrollment.
The private women's college in Nevada said it will offer programs in criminology, women's studies, organizational leadership and secondary education. The secondary education program is awaiting approval from the state education department.
The college also is considering a one-year certificate program in administrative office technology.
The Joplin Globe reported the school has about 350 residential students enrolled from 40 states and more than 25 countries.
Cottey President Jann Weitzel said the new programs were proposed after examining federal labor statistics and discussions with students, faculty and staff.
