COLUMBIA - Head Coach Bob Burchard and the Cougar men's basketball team have announced the signing of six players to join Columbia for the 2013-14 campaign.
The class includes two high school seniors and four junior college transfers.
"We are very excited about this year's class," said Burchard. "We needed to replace our forwards and I think we got that accomplished with a combination of size, experience, and athleticism. We were fortunate to sign two highly rated freshmen from Missouri who we expect to contribute early in their careers and four experienced transfers from the junior college ranks."
Burchard and the Cougars are coming off one of the most successful seasons in program history in 2012-13, including the school's first ever undefeated regular season and No. 1 national ranking.
Columbia captured the American Midwest Conference (AMC) regular season and tournament championships on its way to a school-record 35 victories, culminating in a trip to the Elite Eight of the NAIA National Tournament.
