BELLEVUE, NE -- The Columbia Cougar volleyball team picked up two more wins in the second day of the Bellevue University Invitational on Saturday, defeating Taylor University in three games by scores of 25-12, 25-20 and 25-18 and topping Bellevue University in three sets 25-18, 25-20 and 25-16. With the wins, the Cougars, who are ranked No. 3 in the latest NAIA Top 25 Poll, improve to 24-1 on the season.
Brooke Simpson and Kelly Corkum led the Cougars in both matches, tallying 22 and 20 kills, respectively. Carol Berger chipped in 18 kills. Paula Ferreira logged a total of 80 assists in the two contests along with eight kills and 14 digs.
Columbia returns to American Midwest Conference action on Tuesday, October 16th when they travel to Hannibal, Missouri to take on Hannibal-LaGrange University. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
