Cougars Advance Past Aquinas

CHICAGO - The Columbia Cougar men's basketball team defeated Aquinas College on Tuesday 66-57, in the second day of the St. Xavier Midwest Tournament. The win moves Columbia to 10-4 on the season and pushes its win streak to four games, dating back to December 2.

Columbia led Aquinas 36-27 at halftime. The Cougars never trailed in the contest after the opening basket made by Jordan Dressler. They shot 49 percent from the field and outrebounded Aquinas 31-27.

Nine Cougars contributed two or more points to the effort. Tanner Sutton led the effort for Columbia with 12 points. Also in double figures was Jordan Dressler with 11 points and eight rebounds. Jake Shockey paced Aquinas with 15 points.

The Cougars compete in the final day of the St. Xavier Midwest Tournament on Thursday, December 22. Time and opponent are still TBD.
