Cougars defeat Westmont in Pool Play 3-1
SIOUX CITY, IA - In their first pool match of the 2013 NAIA Volleyball National Championship, the Cougars' defeated Westmont (Calif.) 3-1 on Tuesday. This puts the Cougars at 29-9 on the season and gives them their twelfth consecutive win dating back to Oct. 23.
The Cougars and Warriors were tied in match one but with Jordan Reid's two service aces and Trinity Ojo's six kills, Columbia pulled out on top. Westmont took the second match to even the score. The Cougars took the third and fourth matches with the help of Shelby Gordon, Paula Rosa and Erin Pavlin.
The Cougars return to pool play on Wednesday against Briar Cliff (Iowa) University. Columbia defeated Briar Cliff during the regular season on Nov. 1.
