KANSAS CITY, MO -- The Columbia College men's basketball team saw their season come to an end tonight with a loss to second seeded Oklahoma Baptist University in the second round of the Buffalo Funds NAIA Division I Men's Basketball Championships. The Cougars fell to the Bison by a final score of 69-57 to finish their season with a 27-7 record. The Bison advance to the round of eight tomorrow to play No. 10 Biola University.

Tonight's game became physical very quickly but the Cougars were able to keep it under control and not get into foul trouble early. Oklahoma Baptist's top scorer played just seven minutes in the first half before he took a place on the bench with seven points and three fouls. However, Columbia's cold shooting, especially from the charity stripe, led to a 28-24 halftime deficit for the Cougars.

A basket by Taylor Evans brought the Cougars within two as the second half of action opened up, but the Bison quickly pushed the ball up the floor and went on a run which would end in a 14-point lead for Oklahoma Baptist.

At the halfway point of the second frame, OBU led 47-35. After a defensive stop Henrique Medeiros connected for his first points of the game and they came in the form of a much needed three from the corner to bring the game within seven, but that was as close as the Cougars would come in the final minutes as the Bison shot their way to the 12-point win.

Junior Jordan Dressler led the Cougars as he has done all season with 16 points. In his last game as a Cougar, senior Taylor Evans dropped in 13 points and Devin Griffin finished with 10 points and five assists. Seniors Henrique Medeiros and Matt Woodcock chipped in three points apiece in their final contest.
