Cougars Golf Finish of Season in first Columbia Invitational

COLUMBIA - The Cougars' golf teams finished up their seasons on Tuesday at the very first Columbia College Fall Invitational. The women finished second with a score of 699, and the men took third with 632. Both the men and women's teams of fellow American Midwest Conference team William Woods University took first place.

Freshman Avery Rochester lead the women with a score of 163, and was named to the All Tournament. Following Rochester was Laken Frese and Hannah Gill finishing the seventh and ninth respectively. Next came Makayla Baker in 20th place. Kasey Nichols, Ashley Bridgford, and Elizabeth Friedman also participated for Columbia.

Junior Brandon Bowman finished fifth overall with a score of 152 and was named to the All-Tournament Team. Colbey Schuster came next in 16th, Michael Steelman in 18th, and Logan Murphy in 24th. Also playing for the Cougars was Erik Peyton and Zach Rockersalso in 33rd and 35th respectively.

"I am very proud of the hard work and effort that both teams have put forth this fall," Head Coach John Utley said.
