Cougars Snag Fifth Win in Conference Play

COLUMBIA - The Columbia Volleyball team is on a roll. The Cougars took out American Midwest Conference (AMC) opponent Harris-Stowe State University in a 3-0 game on Wednesday night. This is Columbia's fifth straight win in conference play, their streak started on October 1st. This win bumps Columbia up to 5-1 in the conference and 15-5 overall.

The Cougars faced little opposition in all three of the games, ending the night with scores 25-8, 25-13, and 25-13. 

Out of Columbia's 41 kills, Trinity Ojo had 11. Joana Alverez led in assists with 20, and Shelby Gordon had 8 digs for Columbia. 

The Cougars will go on to play in the Spartan Invitational in St. Louis over the weekend, hosted by Missouri Baptist University. Columbia will go up against Friends (Kan.) University Friday afternoon and Trinity International University that night. On Saturday, Columbia will verse Grand View (Iowa) University in a match that has been nominated for NAIA Volleyball Match of the Week.
