County approves bonds for Kraft Foods' $114 million expansion
COLUMBIA - Kraft Foods is moving forward with their $114 million expansion of their Columbia plant.
Boone County commissioners approved the issuance of the chapter 100 bonds for the project Tuesday.
Kraft Food's plans include a 25,000-square-foot expansion to it's Columbia plant, which produces Oscar Mayer hot dogs.
Chapter 100 of Missouri Revised Statutes allows cities and counties to pay for projects with bonds proceeds and then lease that project to a business.
Kraft Food's next step is to present the expansion to it's directors.
