Crash Kills 3 in Southeast Missouri
GIDEON (AP) -- Authorities in southeastern Missouri say three people are dead following a one-vehicle crash in New Madrid County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident happened around 10:20 p.m. Monday on Main Street in Gideon. The patrol says a car driven by 19-year-old Dylan Cornett, of Gideon, went out of control on a curve, ran off the road and struck a ditch, a utility pole and a large tree.
The crash killed Cornett and two of his passengers -- 15-year-old Hayley Cagle and 31-year-old Scottie Vires, all of Gideon. A 14-year-old Gideon boy was flown to a Cape Girardeau hospital with what the patrol described as serious injuries.
