COLUMBIA - David Yost stepped down from his position as University of Missouri assistant head football coach Monday.
"It's a really hard decision to make, but on the other hand, I feel good that it is the right decision at the right time for me," Yost said. Yost has cited personal reasons for his departure.
"It is very difficult to imagine not having David as part of our staff...I asked him to reconsider," Pinkel said.
Yost served as Offensive Coordinator and has produced three National Football League quarterbacks under his watch. Yost also helped recruit Dorial Green-Beckham and quarterback Maty Mauk for the 2012 season.
Yost has worked with Coach Pinkel for the past 17 seasons. He joined Pinkel's staff at Toledo in 1996.
