Day 4: Senior Center Open Again
"It was a great effort on the cooks and everyone else to make it today and I think they're doing a magnificent job," he said.
But food isn't the only reason people come to the center.
"Most of them are just thrilled to be here," said administrator Brenda Doyle. "A lot of the people that come here are here everyday, and we have a lot of fun. It's their center. They make decisions on what activities we do and they love the socialization."
Gerbes grocery store donated breakfast food, which Peters delivers.
"We go and pick it up about everyday and bring it up here for the cooks and put it out on the table for senior citizens to pick up," he added.
Anyone at least 60 years old can pay the suggested donation of $2.50 for a meal. Anyone less than 60 pays $5.50.
