Democrats Weigh in on the Primary
COLUMBIA - Local democrats met Tuesday to watch the results of the Missouri Presidential Primary. Members of the Democratic Central Committee met at Columbia Country Club to watch as numbers trickled in.
Viewers brought an iPad to keep up-to-date with the latest poll changes. The Boone County Clerk's office posted results on the website throughout the evening.
Ken Jacob, Boone County Muleskinners President, said he expects President Barack Obama to take the democratic vote in Missouri's caucus next month.
"It takes a few years for things to get better," Jacob said. "Unemployment has dropped from 10 percent to almost 8.4 or 8.5 percent, a great improvement from the past."
The watch party for local democrats kept voters updated on possible competition in upcoming elections. Viewers spent most of their time socializing and discussing national and local Boone County hot topics.
