Deputies arrest man for resisting arrest, active warrants
COLUMBIA – A Sturgeon man was arrested Wednesday morning for several charges after allegedly running away from law enforcement.
Shortly before 8 a.m. Boone County deputies and a detective saw Randy McGrath, 18, when he ran from a home on Serenity Circle east of Columbia. They were investigating an unrelated incident at the time.
McGrath had two warrants for his arrest after he allegedly threatened another person with a handgun in an earlier incident.
After McGrath fled the home, deputies chased him a short distance before catching him.
McGrath was taken into custody on suspicion of resisting arrest, unlawful use of a weapon, and fourth-degree assault.
He also had two warrants, including one for tampering with an electronic monitoring device.
The current bonds are set at $110,000.
