Deputies arrest man on drug charges after traffic stop
COLUMBIA - A man was arrested Satuday night after deputies discovered of a large amount of methamphetamine and over an ounce of marijuana in his vehicle.
A Boone County deputy initially stopped Devantre L. Johnson on the 4600 block of North Paris Road when his license plate didn't match the vehicle. Deputies said they searched his vehicle after detecting a strong smell of marijuana.
Deputies said they discovered a large amount of a large amount of a substance testing positive for methamphetamine, more than an ounce of marijuana and various drug paraphernalia.
Johnson, 23, is being held in the Boone County Jail on suspicion of distribution, manufacturing or possession of a controlled substance. Bail is set at $40,000.
