Deputies Make First Degree Burglary Arrest in Boone County
BOONE COUNTY - Robert Levar Mason, 33, of Columbia was arrested Monday night for First Degree Burglary at a Columbia home.
Around 10:10 p.m. Monday, the Boone County Sheriff's Department responded to a burglary in progress at the 700 block of Demaret Drive according to a press release. Deputies said Joint Communications received a call from a female stating a male subject she knew was trying to break into her home.
Dispatch heard the suspect beating on the door along with screaming and crying while officers were in route.
Shortly after, dispatch was alerted the subject was inside the residence according to the sheriff's department.
According to the release, when officers arrived at the house they found Mason in front of the home. Mason was taken into custody without incident after officers confronted him.
Mason was arrested for First Degree Burglary, Felony Stealing, Property Damage Second Degree, and Domestic Assault Third Degree. Bond has not yet been set.
