COLUMBIA - Columbia Public Works will begin removal of the pedestrian bridge over Providence Road near the J.W. Boone Community Center at 7 p.m. Friday night.
Despite Thursday's snow, public works officials said the weather will not hinder the project. Officials said the lack of traffic and pedestrians may make the process simpler. Officials said the removal will last until 9 a.m. Saturday. During that time, Providence Road between Ash and Worley streets will be closed.
