DEVELOPING: Murder Charges for Moberly Mother
RANDOLPH COUNTY - A 25-year-old Moberly mother now faces a murder charge. Randolph County prosecuting attorney Mike Fusselman charged Cassidy King on March 19 with second-degree murder in connection with the death of her infant child. Previously, King faced an abandonment of a corpse charge after her baby's body was found stuffed in a duffel bag in a pond on private property near Higbee.
King's bond stands at $100,000. There is no court date set as of Tuesday evening.
Soon after this story first broke back in early May, forensic tests determined the infant was King's.
Throughout the time between the initial charges facing King and the filing of additional charges Monday, Fusselman indicated that an investigation continued into whether or not acts surrounding the infant's death constituted murder.
