Distress call ends in arrest, firearm in possession
FULTON - A Fulton man is in custody after a call on an individual's well-being ended in an arrest. The call came in at 2:39 a.m. on Sunday, according to a press release from the Fulton Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of South Westminster Ave., where they made contact with the victim who was in distress. They identified Mitchell Chambers as threatening physical harm to the victim. Chambers had a firearm in his possession.
Chambers was taken into custody without incident and a loaded handgun was found during a search of Chambers' residence.
Chambers was taken to the Callaway County Jail for Domestic Assault 4th Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Armed Criminal Action, and Unlawful for Certain Persons to Possess a Firearm.
