Dog Dragged on St. Louis Interstate Has New Home
ST. LOUIS (AP) -- A dog that nearly died after it was dragged behind a truck on an interstate in St. Louis is healthy again and has a new home.
Trooper, the pit bull-mix, went home Thursday with a St. Louis-area man who recently lost his pet pit bull.
The dog was 5 months old in November 2012 when he was dragged nearly a mile while tied to the trailer hitch of a pickup. The driver was not aware that the dog was tied to his truck.
Trooper, now about 19 months old, suffered severe injuries. He was nursed back to health by the Humane Society of Missouri.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch says the new owner promises Trooper will be very happy.
