Domionte Cheatum sentenced to 40 years for Unger murder
COLUMBIA - A Boone County judge sentenced Domionte Cheatum to 40-years in prison Thursday for killing Anthony Unger after a botched drug deal off Conley Road in Columbia. A jury convicted Cheatum June 12.
Prosecutors charged Cheatum with armed criminal action, second degree murder and first degree robbery in the 2013 murder.
Prosecutors said Cheatum shot Unger after Cheatum attempted to steal marijuana from Unger.
Samuel Butler faced the same charges. Prosecutors dropped those charges July 14. Butler pleaded guilty to intent to distribute.
