JOPLIN (AP) - A drive-through bank robbery attempt ended badly for a southwest Missouri woman.

The Joplin Globe reports that the 50-year-old suspect is being held at the Joplin City Jail on $5,000 bond. She is accused of putting a note demanding money in the drawer of a walkup window of a U.S. Bank branch in Joplin.

The Springfield woman left on foot Friday when the teller refused to comply. The woman was arrested just minutes later in the parking lot of a nearby grocery store.

Joplin police Cpl. Chuck Niess says the woman wasn't armed.
