Pooker was taken to a Cape Girardeau hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Pooker was a 2001 graduate of Hillsboro High School and received a master's degree in civil engineering in 2006 at what is now Missouri University of Science and Technology. His funeral is at 10 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Hillsboro.
