Eleventh annual farm showcase presents new additions
COLUMBIA - The University of Missouri College of Agriculture will host its 11th annual South Farm Showcase today, which will feature many events which are new to the venue.
In previous years, the event has had different agriculture-related activities like a baby animal zoo, free pumpkins for kids, and a corn maze, and still will. But this year event organizers added in another maze made from a field of fully blooming sunflowers, which is unique to events like these.
The biggest addition to the Showcase however is the new "Taste of Mizzou" event, which features numerous food producers and growers local to the area. Hot peppers, Asian carp, and a broad selection of ice cream flavors will be featured as a part of this event, alongside other different unsavory food items to show a contrast in agricultural production in the area.
The Showcase will be located at the South Farm Research Center off New Haven road, will begin at 10:00 a.m., and is completely free to the public.
