ELLISVILLE - It appears that a St. Louis County mayor may survive an impeachment effort. During a short meeting on Monday, Ellisville Charter Enforcement Commission members voted 3-0 to throw out a complaint that Mayor Adam Paul had unlawfully ordered an officer to remove a person from a city council meeting. At the urging of the city manager, the resident was allowed to stay.
The meeting occurred Feb. 6. Ellisville has been the site of several contentious meetings over plans to use public financing for a development that includes a Walmart. Paul says he wants to put the matter behind him. The final say is with the city council, which meets Wednesday.
