Emergency crews respond to car fire in Brown Station Park
COLUMBIA - The Columbia Fire Department found a car on fire in Brown Station Park just before 3:00 a.m. Friday morning, according to a release from the department.
The car was on fire at 3505 James Dale Road. According to Columbia Fire, crews were able to put out the fire in eight minutes.
Assistant Fire Marshal Kyle Edwards said there was damage to an area of mulch, but no structures were damaged.
One person was in the area of the fire, but there were no reported injuries.
The driver of the vehicle has been identified by the Columbia Fire Department as Christopher Carter.
Carter had a blood alcohol level of .224% and was arrested for misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and was released on municipal summons.
