Epps and Morales Earn HAAC Basketball Honors

MARSHALL, MO - Missouri Valley College Freshman Jordan Epps and Junior Forward Gabi Morales have received basketball honors from the Heart of America Athletic Conference. Epps was named to the men's all-conference first team and was named the HAAC Freshman of the Year. Morales was named to the women's all-conference third team.

Epps finished the 2012-2013 season as the HAAC's leading scorer averaging 18.7 points per game. He ended in third in the HAAC in steals, averaging 2.2 per game, and finished fifth in assists with 3.5 per game.

Morales led the Lady Vikings in scoring this season at an 8.5 points per game average. She finished eighth in the HAAC in rebounds per game averaging 7.7, and led the HAAC in blocked shots averaging 2.7 per game. The Lady Vikings play regular season HAAC champion MidAmerica Nazarene in the opening round of the conference postseason tournament Thursday night. Game time is set for 6 p.m. in Olathe, Kan.
