ESPNw names McCaskill as a Impact25 Influencer
BRISTOL, Conn. - ESPNw named Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) as 2015 Impact25 Influencers for their efforts to help stop sexual assault on college campuses.
The article features comics of the Impact 25 Influencers drawn by Marvel artists. McCaskill and Gillibrand are nicknamed the "Senators of Steel" for their work as co-sponsors of the Campus Accountability and Safety Act which called for more detailed and stricter sexual assault policies on college campuses.
They are joined on the ESPNw list by athletes such as UFC fighter Ronda Rousey and softball player Lauren Chamberlain, American Ballet Theater principal dancer Misty Copeland and documentarian Lauren Greenfield, famous for the TV ad that made the phrase "like a girl" a calling call for young girls and woman in sports.
