Ex-Kan. Teacher Accused of Assault During Hike
KANSAS CITY (AP) - A former Johnson County, Kan., teacher has been charged with aggravated assault for allegedly trying to push his wife off a cliff.
The Kansas City Star reports that 68-year-old Charles Reed Black of Camden, Maine, was charged Friday. Lisa Black told police her husband hit her in the head several
times with a rock and then shoved her off a cliff April 7. She is a former teacher with the Olathe School District, while her husband taught at Shawnee Mission East.
Lisa Black made her way down the hill and got help from a passing motorist. Charles Black fell and also was seriously injured. Charles Black was still in Penobscot County jail Sunday night
and a jailer said he had no records indicating that Black had hired an attorney.
