Ex-Mo. Medicaid Director Gets Job With Va.
ST. LOUIS (AP) - Missouri's former Medicaid director has a new job with Virginia's health department.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Monday that Ian McCaslin has been hired as the director of family health services in the Virginia Department of Health. His new job is to start Oct. 25.
McCaslin lost his job as Missouri's Medicaid director in May after serving since August 2007 under both a Republican and Democratic governor. Neither McCaslin nor the Missouri Department of Social Services provided an explanation about why he no longer was director.
Before coming to Missouri, McCaslin was a faculty member at Harvard Medical School and an attending physician at Boston Children's Hospital.
