KANSAS CITY (AP) — A former Kansas City, Missouri, postal carrier has pleaded guilty in a conspiracy to distribute PCP through the mail.

The U.S. attorney's office says 65-year-old Carol Barfield entered the plea Monday. Co-defendant Michael Garrett, of Victorville, California, pleaded guilty in September to his role and to using a telephone to distribute PCP.

Prosecutors say the 57-year-old Garrett mailed packages of PCP from Victorville to addresses on Barfield's postal route. That's allegedly so Barfield could mark them as delivered but keep them and divert them to intended recipients elsewhere.

PCP is a hallucinogenic drug also called "angel dust."

Barfield told investigators that Garrett bought her clothes, fixed her car and provided her with spending money. She faces up to 20 years in prison. The sentencing date hasn't been set.
