Execution Date Set for Mo. Man Convicted of Murder, Rape
JEFFERSON CITY - The Missouri Supreme Court set an execution date Wednesday for a 45-year-old man convicted of murder and rape.
In May 1997 the Circuit Court of Boone County found Russell Bucklew guilty of first-degree murder.
The Southeast Missourian reports Bucklew was convicted for killing Michael H. Sanders in Cape Girardeau County in March 1996, and for kidnapping and raping his ex-girlfriend Stephanie Ray.
Bucklew's execution is scheduled for May 21.
