Family offers reward year after bicyclist killed
ST. LOUIS (AP) - Nearly a year after a man was fatally struck by a car while riding his bicycle in St. Louis, the case remained unsolved, and his relatives were offering a reward Thursday for information leading to the suspect.
KMOV-TV reports the family of Richard Beard, who would have turned 55 Thursday, was offering a reward of $25,000. CrimeStoppers was offering another $5,000, bringing the total reward to $30,000.
Beard was riding his bike on June 20, 2014, when he was struck at the intersection of North Sarah and Cook. Police recovered the 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix that struck him, but did not find the driver.
