Fatal shooting in Dunklin County under investigation
MALDEN, Mo. (AP) - Police in southeast Missouri are investigating after a man allegedly fatally shot a relative who came at him with a knife.
KFVS-TV reports that Dunklin County deputies were called Thursday evening to a home near Maldeon, where a disturbance was reported between Travis Phillip Bullock and Johnny Mallett.
The sheriff's department says Bullock went into Mallett's home with a knife and threatened him, and Mallett responded by fatally shooting Bullock.
Authorities were uncertain of how the men were related.
No charges have been filed. The Dunklin County Major Case Squad, the sheriff's department, Malden police and the Missouri State Highway Patrol are working together on the investigation.
