FEMA offers disaster assistance to flood survivors
JEFFERSON CITY- The Federal Emergency Management Agency helpline is available for Missouri flood survivors who are in need of assistance. Although the deadline to register for disaster assistance has passed, FEMA is still offering help to those who have applied but still need help.
Flood victims are urged to contact FEMA if they have questions or to get referrals for help with any unmet need.
The helpline is available seven days a week for those who were affected by the December and January floods.
Those who need help can call 1-800-621-3362 or TTY 1-800-462-7585. Those who use 711-Relay or Video Relay Services can call 1-800-621-3362. Assistance is available by phone from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
When applicants call they should have their nine-digit FEMA registration number or visit its website and click "Check your status."
Applicants can call if they have questions about: FEMA decision letters, how to appeal FEMA decision letters, the status of a registration, provide change of personal information and questions about federal disaster assistance.
