FENTON, MO (AP) -- The St. Louis Rams and the St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission are far apart on plans to upgrade the Edward Jones Dome. One suburban St. Louis mayor says he may have an alternative.
Fenton Mayor Dennis Hancock isn't actively making a pitch to move the NFL team to the suburbs. But he told KMOX Radio that his community does have 300 acres of open land at the site of the former Chrysler plant that was torn down last year.
Hancock notes that the site is situated along Interstate 44 and near I-270. The 5 million square feet of available space would allow room for a stadium plus plenty of parking and other development.
