Ferguson Commission to meet again as deadline nears
FERGUSON (AP) - A panel tasked with finding ways to resolve social and economic divisions brought out by last year's unrest after the Ferguson police shooting death of Michael Brown will meet again as a key deadline approaches.
The 16-person Ferguson Commission's scheduled meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Creve Coeur Government Center comes three weeks before the panel is to make its first report to Gov. Jay Nixon on its progress.
The commission includes protesters, municipal and police officials, and community and business leaders.
The panel has developed roughly 200 "calls to action."
Its report is due to Nixon by mid-September.
