Fire Crews Respond to Work Site for Trapped Worker
COLUMBIA — The Columbia Fire Department dispatched to a high angle rescue at the intersection of Hitt Street and Locust Street Thursday.
While en route, the 9-1-1 callers reported a worker trapped in a trench. Service Joint Communications advised the 9-1-1 callers to help the worker out of the trench.
Fire and EMS crews arrived four minutes later and were directed to a worker with injuries to his wrists. Boone Hospital Ambulance personnel evaluated the male subject and transported him to University Hospital for further evaluation.
