Fire Destroys Camden County Home
CAMDEN COUNTY - An electrical fire, aided by hot weather conditions, destroyed a Camden County home Thursday afternoon.
According to a press release, Osage Beach Fire Protection responded to the fire at 6903 El Terra Road at about 1:20 p.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found a two-story, single family home heavily involved in fire. They also found the homeowner in the front yard, suffering from burn injuries. The owner was evaluated by paramedics but refused treatment.
Due to weather and heat conditions, it took firefighters nearly an hour and a half to control the fire, and they remained for an additional two hours afterward. Several firefighters were treated for heat related illnesses at the scence, and one was taken to the hospital before being released.
Firefighters were able to save two vehicles from the garage, but the house was destroyed. Damage is listed at $300,000.
This was one of three fires burning at the same time in the lake area, so resources were limited.
