Fire Leaves Building a Total Loss
HARRISBURG - A fire in Harrisburg left a barn a total loss Thursday night.
Captain Chris Swisher of the Boone County Fire District said no one was injured by the fire.
The first firetruck to arrive at the 13411 N. Route E fire was from the Harrisburg Fire Department, and it managed to put out most of the flames.
In all, 10 units and 30 people were called to fight the fire because the fire district originally believed the barn was attached to the house and people might be in danger.
Because the house was far from a fire hydrant, firefighters had to shuttle water in from the Harrisburg fire station.
Captain Swisher says investigators are still trying to figure out what exactly happened and that they probably won't know until the morning when it is light out again.
