COLUMBIA - Dozens of people boogied their way through downtown in Columbia's first ever DanceWalk Friday. Starting at Artlandish Gallery on Walnut Street, roughly 40 people danced down Hitt Street, back up 8th and 9th street, and eventually made it back to the gallery.

Volunteers for the event made sure the participants crossed the street safely and stayed hydrated.

Columbia's DanceWalk was inspired by a YouTube video that promotes a healthy way to get fit. Anyone can particpate as long as they are moving their body.

The event was held in conjunction Dog Day Night at the Catacombs.
