BERGER - The body of a fisherman who fell into the Missouri River about 60 miles west of St. Louis has been recovered in the water.

A volunteer firefighter found the body of 40-year-old Scott Shockley, of Chamois, on Monday afternoon.

Highway Patrol Sgt. Chris Patton says the recovery was made about two miles from where Shockley fell from his boat around 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

Shockley had been spending the weekend on the Missouri camping and fishing with family and friends.

Patton says Shockley and his two sons were running a trout line when their boat became tangled, knocking Shockley into the river. One son tried to pull him out, but the current was too strong.
