COLUMBIA - Five former Missouri Tigers baseball players were taken in the MLB Draft this week.

Pitcher Tanner Houck was taken in the first round (24th overall) by the Boston Red Sox. Houck went 4-7 with a 3.33 ERA, 95 strikeouts and just a .220 opponent batting average. He is the seventh player in Missouri history to be selected in the first round.

The next Mizzou player off the board was Bryce Montes De Oca, who went in the 15th round (463rd overall) to the Washington Nationals. De Oca had a career year for the Tigers, allowing just a .205 opponent batting average across 61 innings pitched.

Six rounds later, junior infielder Robbie Glenndinning was taken by the Pittsburgh Pirates (628th overall). Glenndinning only played one season for Missouri, batting .274 with 13 doubles. He was SEC Player of the Week in March during the Tigers' 20-game winning streak.

Junior catcher Brett Bond went in the 23rd round (691st overall) to the Houston Astros. Bond batted .308 for the Tigers with 10 home runs. He had career highs in batting, slugging, OBP, hits, doubles, homers, RBI's and runs scored.

Finally, starter Cole Bartlett went in the 25th round (742 overall) to the Arizona Diamondbacks. He made 19 appearances in 2017, including five starts. He posted a 6-3 record with a 3.19 ERA in 79 innings pitched.

The five players selected ties a program high with the 2006 team, which also produced five draft picks.
