Flight attendant's passion: Reuniting soldiers and dogs
ST. LOUIS — For the fifth time, Molli Oliver has successfully reunited a retired military dog with its former handler.
The 65-year-old United Airlines flight attendant was chatting with a Marine in April 2015 and was moved by his sad story: Five years after he parted ways with his dog, he still missed him.
Oliver was able to reunite that dog and Marine last year, and in the process adopted a new passion. Since then, she has reunited four other members of the military with their dogs.
The most recent reunion was last week when Army Staff Sgt. Derrek Green got his dog, Zeva, after two years of separation. Zeva had been kenneled at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. She is now living with Green and his family in Texas.
